Full of Smiles

It’s sometime past 11pm. I’m brushing my teeth. The littlest bro’s watching me, munching on a Cruskit. Yep, one last Cruskit before he has to hit the sack.
He finally announces he’s had his fill with a theatrical cry—“Nooooo!”—and the handing over of the half-eaten crispbread.
“Are you full?” I ask.
“I full.”
I tell him it’s time to go to bed and lead him to his room. At first he’s OK with this development.
Then he stops.
He blinks those big eyes up at me and, bursting with the infectious hope of a two-year-old, says: “Chocolate?”

Midsummer Rain

"Behold, God is great, and we know him not;
the number of his years is unsearchable.
For he draws up the drops of water; they distill his mist in rain, which the skies pour down and drop on mankind abundantly.
Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds,
the thunderings of his pavilion?
Behold, he scatters his lightning about him and covers the roots of the sea."
Job 36: 26-30 ESV

And light dwells with Him

Some of my favourite verses from Daniel 2! I'm so excited to read this incredible book of the Bible :D Began reading this morning.

Daniel 2:26-28
26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?”
27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king. 28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.

Daniel 2:46-47
46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him. 47 The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.”

Miracle

Her sleepy head fits in my palm. Tiny fingers curl open and closed. Little dimples vanish on sight. Her fragile newborn cry breaks my heart. Every time.
You can’t bottle up beautiful moments like this. There are far too many—the bottle will burst, just like the welled-up love inside. Grace upon grace.

All praise and glory be to God!

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.” Psalm 127:3
